One of our favorite downtown dining spots, Capital Bar & Grill, announced a new summer menu is expected this week.

A staple for lunch, cocktails and dinner, let's first begin with what many of you are wondering: What about those CBG classics, which include the burger with pimento cheese and parmesan fries? (Okay, so we really want to know because this is a standard order for our team. Pass the judgement and a side of truffled bernaise sauce for the fries.) Good news — those stay.

While the summer menu won't officially be released for a couple of days, we did receive a sneak peek of a few dishes courtesy of CBG's Facebook page. Highlights include: charred avocado with shrimp and citrus salad; a mouth-watering chicken fried steak sandwich with tomato aioli, butter lettuce and heirloom tomatoes all on a ciabatta bun; fried biscuits with whipped smoked trout (we just died); and a pickled beets and strawberry salad with whipped goat cheese, pistachios and sorghum vinaigrette. If you'll excuse us, we're having a moment.

Leading the team is Chef Arturo Solis who shared his thoughts in this video on what makes his food so delicious and why bringing the community back into the kitchen is so important.
